Position Summary
Chord Energy is seeking an experienced oil and gas revenue accounting supervisor to support various functions primarily related to its North Dakota and Montana upstream oil and gas assets. The primary responsibilities of this role is to proactively lead the revenue accounting team, including leading various team projects, mentoring less experienced accountants, and reviewing and approving 3-stream revenues for operated and non-operated properties, as well as reviewing and approving account reconciliations and analysis. This position reports directly to the Revenue Accounting Manager and is located in downtown Houston, TX. Hybrid work schedule is an option for remote work on Mondays and Fridays. Level and salary commensurate with experience.
Essential Functions
Train, develop and supervise revenue accounting team
Lead special projects, as needed
Review monthly 3-stream revenue accruals and actuals for operated and non-operated properties and related journal entries
Review monthly Marketing Accounting accruals, actuals and related journal entries
Review PPAs for operated properties
Review monthly account reconciliations and analysis
Review monthly revenue check-write process
Provide technical support and advise based on expertise and industry experience
Maintain SOX controls, policies and procedures

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related degree
10 years of experience in Revenue Accounting, specifically related to oil and gas
3 years of experience as a supervisor or lead
Proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel
Strong analytical and research skills
Strong ability to proactively create and improve processes
Team-oriented individual
Ability to work in a fast-paced and fluid environment; flexible with the demands of a growing company
Ability to meet deadlines
Ability to confidently present and execute ideas
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions: Must possess mobility to work in a standard office setting and to use standard office equipment, including a computer, stamina to maintain attention to detail despite interruptions, strength to lift and carry files weighing up to 10 pounds; vision to read printed materials and a computer screen, and hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone
