Position Summary
The SCADA Manager will lead a team of SCADA analysts and manage the processes, people and technology surrounding the Company’s SCADA and Automation program. The SCADA Manager will work closely with leaders across various operational business units, both upstream and midstream, to plan, direct, coordinate, and ensure the development, implementation, deployment and operation of SCADA and Measurement system technology solutions to meet business needs. This individual will be responsible for managing architectural strategies, communications, monitoring contractors, and understanding the full scope of all monitoring and control functions. This position reports directly to SVP, Execution and is located in downtown Houston, TX. Hybrid work schedule is an option for remote work on Mondays and Fridays. Level and salary commensurate with background and experience.
Essential Job Functions
Responsible for managing multiple Control Room Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) Systems for the Company’s upstream and midstream businesses, including, but not limited to, conversions, upgrades, standardization, maintenance/troubleshooting, and Disaster Recovery (DR).
Provide continual training and technical guidance to the SCADA Specialist Team, End Users and Project Managers to enhance their ability to troubleshoot and optimize the SCADA system.
Oversee technological solutions that interact with SCADA, including measurement data integrity (FlowCal), SCADA Historian (Canary), and artificial lift systems (XSPOC)
Partner with leaders in upstream and midstream Operations as well as the field data communications team to ensure the SCADA team is executing on the Company’s automation initiatives, objectives and expectations
Responsible for following and monitoring compliance procedures for Integration, Development, and Control Room Management.
Oversee the design and delivery of reports and insights that analyze business functions and key operations and performance metrics.
Review, analyze, develop, design and implement methods, processes or reports (manual and automated) to satisfy internal and external data needs and requirements.
Manage and mentor SCADA Specialists including workflow, performance & feedback, time reporting, and training.
Manage Projects and Contractors including tasks timelines and project financial budgets.
Manage SCADA Operations and System Administration including the use of a ticketing system to track, prioritize, approve and close out requests.
Work closely with and support functional groups including Gas Control, , Operations, Production Accounting, Commercial, Measurement, Environmental and Field Technical Services to meet business requirements.
Oversee the data/report requests process: tracking requests submitted, prioritization, approval, etc.
Develop and implement quality controls and departmental standards to ensure quality standards and organizational expectations.
Anticipate future demands of initiatives related to people, technology, budget and business within the department as it relates to the needs of the overall organization and design/implement solutions to meet these needs.
Communicate results and business impacts of insight initiatives to stakeholders within and outside of the company.
Stay current on industry standards and regulations to ensure compliance and system safety.
Leverage team to analyze operational data, identify patterns and proactively address systemic issues.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in related field
10 years of SCADA Automation system experience
8 years of Project Management and/or Supervisory experience
5 years of oil & gas industry experience with a working knowledge of gas measurement, process automation, device protocols, networking, and telecommunications
Extensive technical SCADA systems knowledge, training and understanding combined with independent thinking to guide work performed with broader technical and business context
Strong problem solving, quantitative and analytical abilities
Strong ability to plan and manage numerous processes, people and projects simultaneously
Excellent communication, collaboration, and delegation skills
Strong organizational and analytical skills
Ability to travel to field locations as needed
Ability to work in a fast-paced and fluid environment; flexible with the demands of a growing company
Ability to meet deadlines

Preferred Qualifications
5 years of telecommunications experience, including radio and FCC requirements
Experience with GeoSCADA
Experience with FlowCal, TestIt, XSPOC, P2 ProCount and Canary Historian software applications
Experience in configuring Control Centers/Rooms and process monitoring screens
Experience managing Upstream and Midstream Control Rooms
Experience with SCADA Conversion and Standardization Projects
Working knowledge of applicable API, ISO/IEC, ISA Standards for SCADA Systems
Familiarity with industrial protocols such as Modbus and MQTT
Familiarity with common industrial programmable devices such as Allen Bradley Compact Logix/ControlLogix, SCADAPack, Red Lion Controller, Fischer ROC & ABB Flow Computers
