JOB SUMMARY
The General Maintenance Painter responsibilities encompass preparing surfaces, mixing and applying paint, and ensuring a high-quality finish, while also maintaining tools and adhering to safety regulations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Painting walls, ceilings, doors, windows, trim and other surfaces.
- Applying specialized finishes like wallpaper and vinyl wall coverings.
- Climbing ladders and working from heights as necessary.
- Erecting, rigging, and moving scaffolding and ladders as needed.
- Assist in moving of furniture or items as directed.
- Assist in set-up of areas for special events, including tents, chairs, podiums and
- music stands.
- Assist in residence hall repairs as directed.
- Assist in light repairs and maintenance both inside and outside as requested.
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor team in Facilities and Grounds.
Qualifications
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- May require walking or standing for long periods.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Proven ability to manipulate and make adjustments to existing structures.
- Possess a valid driver’s license with a positive driving record.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- High School Diploma or Equivalent Required.
- 1-2 years’ experience in a maintenance/construction environment.
