INTERNSHIP TYPE: Internship - APRN Level
HOURS/SCHEDULE: 16 hours/week
PROGRAM/LOCATION: Child Outpatient, Willimantic, CT
ABOUT THE PROGRAM: CHILD OUTPATIENT PROGRAM
Psychiatric and diagnostic evaluation and treatment is provided to children, adolescents and families. Services are available in our East Hartford, Enfield, Mansfield, Manchester and Bloomfield locations. Saturday hours are available at the Manchester location (9-2). Our child and adolescent offices are designated as Enhanced Care Clinics under Husky, and offer integrated behavioral health services. Individual, family treatment, psychiatric evaluation, medication management, MATCH, ARC, and TF-CBT (Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) are available.
PROGRAM OUTLINE:
By participating as a Master's Level Intern with CHR, you can expect to gain firsthand experience and training related to clinical mental health & substance abuse evaluation and treatment as well as other services, including assessment, working on independent living skills, outreach treatment services and medication evaluation and monitoring.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Must be enrolled in a RN or APRN degree program.
Experience: Demonstrated experience in mental health treatment preferred but not required.
Licensure/Certification/Registration: Valid driver’s license
