INTERNSHIP TYPE: Internship - Bachelor's Level
HOURS/SCHEDULE: 12 hours/week, Hours to be mutually agreed upon and subject to change
PROGRAM/LOCATION: Northfield, Enfield, CT
ABOUT THE PROGRAM: Northfield
Northfield is a 24/7 residential program for adults with serious mental illness. We teach life skills and build healthy habits through skill-based groups and individual interactions. Residential Counselors and our therapy cat Lucy, work alongside our residents in their journey of understanding and accepting their illness and learning the skills necessary to live healthy independent lives. The care and support that we give our folks stays with them and their families long after they leave Northfield.
PROGRAM OUTLINE:
By participating as a Bachelor's Level Intern with CHR, you can expect to gain firsthand experience and training related to clinical mental health & substance abuse evaluation and treatment as well as other services, including assessment, working on independent living skills, outreach treatment services and medication evaluation and monitoring.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Must be enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program in mental health field.
Experience: Demonstrated experience in mental health treatment preferred but not required.
Licensure/Certification/Registration: Valid driver’s license
