JOB TITLE: Engagement Specialist- Clinician Assistant
EMPLOYMENT TYPE: Full-time, 40 hours/wk
SCHEDULED HOURS: Monday-Friday 8am-4:30pm; Two days per week in the Willimantic office and remainder of week will be in the Danielson office.

ABOUT THE PROGRAM: Adult Outpatient Program (AOP)
The Adult Outpatient Services program (AOP) assists adult clients who are recovering from traumatic incidents, substance use, or are looking to manage a chronic mental health disorder through psychiatric & substance abuse diagnostic evaluation and treatment. AOP has a tier-based productivity incentive program, with the vast majority of staff consistently exceeding productivity expectations and obtaining a bonus. Typical days varies as there is the possibility to work with clients individually, in a group setting, or IOP. There is regular weekly supervision provided to all non-licensed staff and biweekly supervision for licensed staff. Nonetheless, supervisors are always available whenever you are working to answer questions and offer clinical assistance when needed.
ABOUT THE POSITION: Engagement Specialist- Clinician Assistant
Duties & Responsibilities
ENGAGEMENT
- Establishes rapport and working relationships with clients, families, and natural supports for the purpose of engaging clients in therapy and wellness services.
- Assist clients to identify and resolve psychosocial or resource barriers that interfere with participation in treatment, including transportation.
- Coordinate care with internal and external providers.
- Contact clients within 24 hours of missed therapy or wellness appointments to explore and resolve barriers and reschedule appointments.
- Provide psychoeducational and community resources to assist clients to meet basic needs and social supports.
- Document interventions in electronic health record.
- Coach clients/families to secure benefits for which they are eligible, including medical insurance, liaison with transportation providers, and so on.
CLINICIAN ASSISTANT
- Assist Therapists with administrative tasks associated with caseload management, such as discharge summaries, disability forms, data collection and entry, preparing letters, tracking client activity.
- Assist Therapists to manage events of the day to meet client needs, such as phone calls, welcoming clients, data collection, coordinating tasks.
- Attend and participate in staff meetings.
- Work in close coordination with front desk and Triage Center staff and front desk staff to expedite access to care for clients with immediate needs, such as those transitioning from higher levels of care.
- Attend and participate in supervision.
- May perform other assignments and duties as program and agency needs require
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in human services field preferred. Other Bachelor’s degree or Associate’s accepted. Other certification, such as medical assistant accepted.
Experience: Experience in customer service, healthcare service setting, social service setting preferred. Experience in behavioral health a plus

COMPENSATION*:
$18.00/hr min., and up commensurate upon experience.
*Actual rates are determined at the time of offer and are based on relevant experience, as well as adherence to our internal equity policy. Many of our positions offer program/location differentials and/or sign-on incentives. (Please note, for part-time positions this range would be pro-rated based on hours worked)
