INTERNSHIP TYPE: Internship - Master's Level
HOURS/SCHEDULE: 15 hours/week, Monday-Friday based on program
PROGRAM/LOCATION: Intensive Outpatient, Manchester CT
ABOUT THE PROGRAM: INTENSTIVE OUTPATIENT
IOP is a comprehensive and inclusive treatment modality where clients have the opportunity to receive therapy, usually in a group setting, and may include psychiatric evaluation and medication management. Each client is assigned a primary therapist who is responsible for clinical and administrative tasks associated with client care, including involvement of family and/or natural supports whenever possible and initiating and maintaining communication with relevant providers. IOP treatment is 9 to 12 hours per week over the course of 3 or 4 days per week.

PROGRAM OUTLINE:
By participating as a Master’s Level Intern with CHR, you can expect to gain firsthand experience and training related to psychiatric & substance abuse diagnostic evaluation and treatment as well as other services, including assessment, consultation, individual, couples, group, family treatment and medication evaluation and monitoring.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Must be enrolled in a master’s degree program in mental health field.
Experience: Demonstrated experience in mental health treatment preferred but not required.
Licensure/Certification/Registration: Valid driver’s license
