JOB TITLE: Mental Health First Aid Instructor
EMPLOYMENT TYPE: Full-time, 40 hours/wk
SCHEDULED HOURS: Monday-Friday, 9:00am-5:00pm; Remote with some in-person requirements in Tolland, Hartford, and Windham counties.

ABOUT THE PROGRAM: MHFA
MHAT will utilize the evidenced based training curriculums of Mental Health First Aide (MHFA) and YMHFA (Youth) to train individuals and groups that can benefit from mental health awareness training in the communities CHR serves. We seek to train a diverse group of individuals including social and human service staff, criminal justice professionals, veterans, first responders, k-12 teachers/staff and community college personnel and others. This will enhance overall community awareness of mental health disorders.
ABOUT THE POSITION: Mental Health First Aid Instructor
Duties & Responsibilities
- Acquire and Maintain MHFA and YMHFA Instructor Certification.
- Provide MHFA and YMHFA training to professional and social service providers from a variety of agencies, including professionals in schools, criminal justice, emergency personnel, community college, veteran groups, and social service agencies.
- Collect trainee sign-in sheets, trainee satisfaction and knowledge-based surveys.
- Organize training material including curricula and resource manual.
- Develop a network of agencies to introduce MHFA and engage in training commitments
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Master's degree or above in behavioral health field.
Experience: A minimum of 3 years post master’s experience in providing services.
Licensure/Certification/Registration: MHFA/YMHFA Certification at hire or within first two months.

COMPENSATION*:
Starting at $54,996/yr min., and up commensurate upon experience.
*Actual rates are determined at the time of offer and are based off of relevant experience, as well as adherence to our internal equity policy. Many of our positions offer program/location differentials and/or sign-on incentives. (Please note, for part-time positions this range would be pro-rated based on hours worked)
