We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Propulsion Design Engineer who would be responsible for researching, generating, developing, and modeling design for Chris-Craft products. Work will be focused during the engineering phases of product development but will extend throughout the development and integration phases. Additionally, support will be provided for sustaining engineering projects to support continuous improvements to the existing product line. Engineering will be performed to ensure designs are robust and manufacturing friendly. These systems must meet all necessary internal quality and supplier requirements and be executed to meet industry and regulatory requirements.
Education/Training- Bachelor's degree in (Mechanical Engineering, Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering related discipline) preferred
- Consideration will be given for candidates with significant work experience in lieu of educational requirements
- 2-5 years' experience in marine product design preferred with knowledge of production processes.
- NMMA Compliance Specialist Certification (or ability to obtain)
- ABYC Standards Certification (or ability to obtain)
- Epicor parts and BOM research skills
- CAD experience: Rhino, NX, Solid Works, Catia or Pro E preferred
- 3-D modeling skills required. Able to perform 3D surface modeling/fiberglass parts development and refinement of existing geometry.
- Commitment to quality and standards that are accepted by the industry
- Must interface well with other employees and departments throughout Chris Craft as well as outside vendors, dealers and retail customers
- Must be able to work extra hours required to assume timely completion of critical project
- Proficiency in PC based tools with a focus on Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, email and general web-based applications
- Complex problem solving and decision making ability
- Able to perform hands-on fabrication and validate concepts/ideas
