The Mold Care Repair Finisher will be responsible for repairing molds.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Follow work instructions/drawings for assigned tasks
- Learn to use proper tools for the job including DA sander and buffer.
- Efficient sanding and buffing (no burn through).
- Learn how to identify mold defects.
- Learn to mix gel coat and resins needed for repairs
- Learn how to spot spray gel coat with spray gun
- Learn how to fair in parts
- Repair surface defects in molds using proper tools
- Operate Zund machine and understand the functionality of the machine
- Cross-train and learn new areas
- Performs other duties as assigned by Supervisor
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED preferred. Technical certification in relevant area helpful.
- Experience working with fiberglass or in auto body repair helpful
- Familiarity with mixing gel coats or paint with activators
- Good working knowledge of repair tools (sanders, buffers, spray equipment)
- Deadline and detail-oriented, ability to stay on task
- Good attention to detail required
- Able to work with a team and independently
- Good attendance required
- Excellent vision required
Physical Requirements: Including, but not limited to:
- climbing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, lifting up to 50 lbs, stretching, squatting and bending.
- May work on knees, seated, laying down, standing up.
- May require individual to be in awkward positions.
Environmental Conditions:
- Exposed to heat, cold, dust, fumes, and some outside weather conditions.
- May be exposed to acetone, resin, fiberglass, putties, glues, cleaners.
