LIFT Center Community Engagement Coordinator
PURPOSE: To lead community engagement for the Christ Church LIFT Center. To help direct Christ Church’s response to the needs in the community. To provide opportunities to serve with our mission partners and community organizations.
POSITION FOCUS: The LIFT Center Community Engagement Coordinator will play a key role in empowering and equipping the people of Christ Church for local Kingdom impact. Serving as a vital connector between the Christ Church LIFT Center, Christ Church staff, lay leaders, domestic mission partners and community organizations, the Community Engagement Coordinator will ensure that more of our people utilize their God-given gifts to serve others for God’s glory.
SUPERVISORY RELATIONSHIP:
Reports to: Executive Director of LIFT Center
Partners With: Senior Director of Missional Living, Domestic Missions Coordinator, LIFT Center Coordinator, Butterfield Campus Coordinator, Butterfield Campus Pastor
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
COMMUNITY LIAISON
- Serves as the primary contact for all local serve opportunities outside of the LIFT Center.
- Works with Domestic Missions Coordinator to identify opportunities with domestic mission partners.
- Works with local schools to support needs.
- Works with community organizations (park districts, DuPage PADS, Outreach, Kids Hope) to support needs.
COMMUNICATION
- Drives the communication of local serve opportunities to potential volunteers
- Updates Sign-up Genius for volunteer signups.
- Ensures that that website is current.
- Shares content for Christ Church social media platforms.
- Assists with content for special cards, newsletter and worship promotion of events and opportunities.
- Serves as the primary contact for the Monthly Calendar Cards.
DATA COLLECTION
- Partners with Director of Data Services to create and maintain Touchpoint involvements for “Serve Near”
EVENTS
- Leads the FOR Chicagoland Annual Day of Service team.
- Coordinates FOR Christmas initiative (presents and candy).
- Coordinates special drives and collections.
VOLUNTEER RELATIONSHIPS
- Helps to recruit volunteers and find the best match for giftings and ministry.
- Cultivates relationships with volunteers.
- Assists Executive Director with volunteer training and appreciation.
LIFT CENTER
- Collaborates with LIFT Center staff.
- Supports at least one shift of the Food Market each week, to include one Saturday each month.
Spiritual Development
- Support and model individual spiritual formation, i.e., Worship, Grow and Serve. (Weekly worship, prayer, scripture reading, small group, volunteering/service, etc.).
