Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and responsible individual to fill the position of Sexton. The Sexton plays a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and overall appearance of the facility. This position involves various tasks related to the upkeep of the grounds and buildings, ensuring that all areas are welcoming and well-maintained for visitors and community members.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine cleaning and maintenance of facilities, including restrooms, meeting rooms, and common areas.
- Oversee the upkeep of outdoor spaces, including landscaping, lawn care, and snow removal as necessary.
- Set up and take down equipment for events or services held on-site.
- Ensure that all safety protocols are followed while performing maintenance tasks.
- Assist with minor repairs and maintenance tasks as needed.
- Monitor inventory levels of cleaning supplies and equipment; report needs to management.
- Provide excellent customer service to visitors by answering questions and assisting with their needs.
Experience
- Previous experience in custodial or maintenance work is preferred but not required.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions effectively.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Good communication skills to interact with staff, visitors, and community members.
- Physical stamina to perform manual labor tasks, including lifting up to 50 pounds.
