What are the responsibilities and job description for the Youth Ministry Assistant position at Christ Community Church of Milpitas?
Position Summary:
The Youth Ministry Assist will provide support to the Youth Director. This position will assist with Jr High and High School mid-week and Sunday meetings. They will work closely with the Youth Director on day to day administration and organization. They will communicate with parents and youth in a relational way.
Position Responsibilities:
Parent Engagement and Communication
- Weekly parent email communication and answering parent questions
- Attend parent check-in meetings to build relationships
- Assist with planning and execution for occasional events to connect with parents
Student and Leader Engagement
- Attend youth services (Thursday and Sunday Nights)
- Minister relationally to students, leaders and parents as situations arise
- Help to conduct youth services on a regular basis (welcome, announcements when needed)
- Assist in maintaining the standard and holding both students and youth leaders to it.
- Assist in putting together weekly text message reminders/updates (Fellowship One)
- Create youth calendars for distribution (3 month increments)
Administration
- Assist in event planning (including communication with vendors and locations)
- Create Registration forms for all events and keep records of those forms.
- Create and run system for new student registration, taking student roll, tracking medical releases and waivers, and updating parent contact information
- Keep up with student and leader birthdays
- Collect prayer requests for leaders and parent prayer team
- Assist with setup for leadership meetings (ordering food, pickups, etc.)
Qualifications and Experience:
- Mature and growing faith in Jesus Christ.
- Evangelical Christian; must support the ECO Tenets
- Experience in youth ministry preferred
- High level of trust and confidentiality required
- Excellent verbal & written communications required
- Relational team player who is patient with others
- Moderate to advanced computer skills
- C3 Partnership preferred
- Willing to be led and taught in leadership
