Shift: Full-Time, Day shift
Location: This position will be located at The Christ Hospital Health Network (TCHHN) main campus, 2139 Auburn Avenue, Cincinnati, Ohio 45219, in addition to other TCHHN locations (including but not limited to Liberty Township, Green Township, Ft. Wright).
Position Description: This APP will serve as an out-patient Urology APP.
Job Overview: The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) may be an NP or PA that has been prepared with the appropriate graduate level education and authorized to practice and prescribe as such. This individual will provide comprehensive outpatient care to patients with conditions affecting the urinary and reproductive systems. This includes conducting a comprehensive health history and physical assessment of patients with acute or chronic problems, establishing a medical diagnosis, providing medical management within the scope of practice, discussing proposed surgical procedures including risks and potential complications to obtain proper patient informed consent, seeing patients in follow-up for post-operative care and communicating effectively with collaborating physicians and other members of the healthcare team.
The schedule will include working Monday through Friday at various practices within the region. There are no weekend, call, or holiday requirements. Urology experience is preferred but not required.
Education: Graduate from accredited Certified Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program.
License/Certification:
- DEA license
- BLS and ACLS certified (preferred but not required)
Certified Nurse Practitioner: Acute Care Nurse Practitioner or Family Nurse Practitioner certification verified by the American Association of Critical Care Nurses (AACN), American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) or American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). Current, valid license (registration) by the Ohio Board of Nursing or applicable state board
OR
Physician Assistant: Graduate from accredited physician assistant program with a Master's Degree Physician Assistant Certification (verified by the National Commission or the Certification of Physician Assistant – NCCPA. Current, valid license (registration) by the state Medical Board of Ohio or applicable state medical board. Current Certificate to prescribe by the State Medical Board of Ohio.
