Summary of Duties

The Middle School Director supports the Student Ministry Pastor by overseeing the discipleship training and systems of the volunteer leaders and students in our Middle School ministry. This position would also pilot a program for upper elementary school students to participate in on Sunday mornings. 

Essential Functions

• With the Student Ministry Pastor, the MS Director works to strategically design and develop conditions and opportunities for middle school students to encounter and follow Jesus. This includes: 
  • The creation and execution of regularly occurring spaces for middle school students that consist of both large and small group gatherings, events, and camps. 
  • Developing and overseeing a Sunday morning gathering for fifth and sixth graders.
  • Ensuring that all opportunities created uphold the calling and values of the CTK Network.
• Help to build a team of communicators for weekly MS gatherings, and speak on a regular basis as part of that team.
• Partner with and equip families in the spiritual development of their middle school-aged children
• Meet with middle schoolers to connect relationally, encourage and disciple them in their relationships with Jesus.
• Pilot a program that would create the opportunity for upper elementary school students to participate in on Sunday mornings that are developmentally appropriate for their spiritual growth
• Provide occasional support for high school events and weekly gatherings. 
• Volunteer/Leader Oversight:
  • Identify, deploy, train, and support adult volunteer leaders.
  • Help plan and facilitate adult leader volunteer training and gatherings.
• Oversee and manage selected social media platforms and administrative responsibilities.
  • Shared oversight of student ministry communication systems.
  • Manage the purchasing, gathering, and tracking of all supplies and food needed for all middle school programs and events
  • Manage and maintain the student ministry spaces, e.g. the alcove and storage rooms. Work to organize, clean, and make improvements to our physical space.

Requirements

• Two years experience in ministry preferred
• Exceptional administrative and time management skills
• Strong communication skills and social intelligence
• Competent with computer applications and databases
• High initiative and intuition
• A love for middle school students
• A mature relationship with Jesus that demonstrates the fruit of the Spirit

Salary : $24 - $26
