What are the responsibilities and job description for the Child Care Aide position at Christ the King Learning and Growth?
Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated professional to help keep our center clean and aid in the caring of children. Typically in the mornings you will be tasked with cleaning the center and helping with lunch. In the afternoons you will have more of a childcare role and will help the children on the playground or in gross motor activities if the weather is too chilly for students to be outside. Further, in the evenings, you will assist with parent pick up and fine motor activities with the students. Additionally, you will be tasked with assisting teachers with breaks and with diaper changes. This position is a fixed schedule Monday through Friday 9:30-5:30 pm. Holidays and weekends off.
Duties
- Supervise and monitor the safety of children in your care.
- Ensure all rooms are clean and sanitized
- Provide care for toddlers, including feeding, diapering, and ensuring hygiene.
- Foster a positive classroom environment that encourages exploration and creativity.
- Communicate regularly with parents about their child's progress and any concerns.
- Administer first aid when necessary and maintain a safe environment for all children.
- Collaborate with other childcare staff to create a cohesive team approach to child care.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in childcare or early childhood education is preferred.
- Knowledge of childhood development principles and practices.
- Strong classroom management skills to maintain an engaging learning environment.
- Ability to educate children through creative play and structured activities.
- Certification in First Aid and CPR is highly desirable.
- Experience working with students in a classroom setting is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with children, parents, and staff.
- A nurturing demeanor with a passion for working with young children.
