Job Description:
Christ the King Catholic School is seeking a dedicated and qualified Long-Term Substitute Teacher for our 1st-grade classroom. This position has become available due to the need for our current 1st-grade teacher to take a medical leave of absence. The ideal candidate will have a passion for teaching young children, a commitment to fostering a positive and engaging classroom environment, and the ability to seamlessly integrate into our school community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver the established 1st-grade curriculum in a dynamic and engaging manner.
- Maintain a structured, yet nurturing classroom environment that supports the individual needs of each student.
- Provide clear instruction in core subjects, including Reading, Writing, Math, Religion, Science, and Social Studies.
- Assess student progress, provide feedback, and communicate regularly with parents and administration.
- Collaborate with other teachers and staff to ensure a consistent and cohesive educational experience for students.
- Uphold the values and mission of Christ the King Catholic School in all interactions with students, parents, and staff.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field is preferred.
- Valid teaching certification (preferably in elementary education) is also preferred.
- Previous experience teaching or substituting at the elementary level is helpful.
- Strong classroom management skills.
- Ability to create a positive and engaging learning environment.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- A commitment to the Catholic faith and willingness to incorporate it into the daily classroom experience.
