Position Overview:
The Classroom Associate/Paraeducator supports teachers in the educational setting by assisting with instructional activities, managing classroom behavior, and providing individualized attention to students. This role is essential in fostering a positive learning environment and ensuring that all students achieve their academic and social goals.
Christ the King Catholic School offers competitive pay, benefits, and a 403b package. Our school serves students in preschool - 8th grade. This position does not work in the summers. We are hiring for the 2025 - 2026 school year.
Key Responsibilities:
- Instructional Support:
- Assist teachers in the delivery of lesson plans and instructional materials.
- Provide one-on-one or small group tutoring to students, reinforcing concepts taught in class.
- Classroom Management:
- Support the teacher in maintaining a positive classroom environment conducive to learning.
- Monitor student behavior and implement strategies to promote positive behavior.
- Assist with classroom organization and cleanliness.
- Student Assistance:
- Assist students and ensure their safety and well-being.
- Encourage students’ independence and self-advocacy skills.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent (Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred).
- Experience working with children, especially in an educational setting.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and staff.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine interest in supporting student learning.
Working Conditions:
- This position typically requires working in a classroom environment, with occasional outdoor activities. The role may involve standing for long periods and lifting or moving educational materials.
