Position Overview
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to fill the dual role of Accounting Assistant and Receptionist. This part-time position requires a professional who can efficiently manage accounting tasks while providing excellent front-desk support. The ideal candidate will have strong administrative, financial, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
Accounting Assistant Duties (Approximately 60% of role):
- Process accounts payable, ensuring accuracy and timely payments.
- Manage the contributions process, including tracking and recording donations.
- Oversee volunteer-related financial tasks and maintain accurate records.
- Handle bank deposits and ensure proper documentation.
- Issue 1099 forms at the end of the year in compliance with IRS regulations.
- Collaborate with vendors to gather required paperwork and resolve discrepancies.
- Assist the Business Manager with additional accounting and administrative tasks as needed.
Receptionist Duties (Approximately 40% of role):
- Greet visitors warmly and direct them to the appropriate personnel or department.
- Answer and manage incoming phone calls, providing information or transferring calls as necessary.
- Manage the reservations process for church events.
- Maintain a clean and organized reception area.
- Assist with general administrative tasks, such as sorting mail and other tasks as may be assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate or bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is a plus.
- Prior experience in accounting, bookkeeping, or administrative roles preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks).
- Tech-savvy individual who is comfortable using technology and willing to learn new systems and processes.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial record-keeping.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.

Work Environment
- This is an on-site position with a consistent schedule of Monday - Thursday, 8:45 AM - 12:45 PM. Hours can change depending on the needs of the church.
