The Landscape Crew Member professional must have a positive attitude, be a fast learner, be conscious of safety requirements, follow instructions by foreman, communicate with landscape design/ Foreman text/call throughout the day, work as a team member and individually, dress appropriately, be able to get to work independently and on time. This position is full time, seasonal. Tasks include, but are not limited to: customer service, debris removal, Rock & mulch installation, tree shrub removal and installation, patios and walls installation, blowing debris. Equipment consists of commercial bed edger, sod cutter, wheel barrow, line trimmer, blower, laser level . Working conditions vary by the job site. Experience is preferred but not required.

RESPONSIBILITIES, SKILLS & TECHNICAL ROLE

  • Follow instructions and tasks given by foreman and carry out those tasks in a productive manner while using time management skills to stay within production rates.
  • Be self-motivated, responsible, reliable, and willing to work alone or with a crew.
  • Be able to lift 50 pounds safely, if needed.
  • Prepare vehicles and equipment for daily tasks.
  • Operating and maintaining equipment properly and safely: Sod cutter, wheel barrow, Skid steer, line trimmers, blowers, edger’s, and aerators
  • Exhibit great customer service and expertise in the job
  • Perform general equipment maintenance
  • Communicate effectively with customers and co-workers

EDUCATION & REQUIREMENTS

  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Must posses a valid driver’s license and have a clean driving record
  • Ability to read and write in English on job related paperwork.

PHYSICAL DEMAND & REQUIRED ACTIVITY/MOVEMENT

  • Frequently lift/carry objects weight up to 50 lbs. Ability to move and position objects weighing up to several hundred pounds using appropriate tools and techniques.
  • Regularly, set up, adjust, control, test, operate and clean landscape equipment.
  • Work out door exposed to exterior elements: pollen, rain, chemicals, cold and heat
  • While on site constantly moving, walking, standing and bending
  • Typical work week requires 40 hours

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

  • April- November Monday-Friday approx. 40 hours per week.
  • Hourly wage paid bi-weekly, overtime pay at time and a half
  • Opportunity for wage increase after 60 days
  • Retirement plan available after 1 year and 1000 hours worked
  • Company issued uniforms
  • Opportunity to run own crew after 60 days if qualified
