Position Summary
The position of Machinist would be a skilled tradesman having the skills and knowledge to create tools, parts, and objects by setting up and operating milling and drilling machines, grinders, and lathes in our machine shop. The position requires the experience and knowledge to adjust speeds and feeds of various cutting tools and the ability to troubleshoot and solve machining issues. It requires attention to detail and a need to be precise and diligent in understanding and following work instructions. Needs to be able to read engineering blueprints, have a strong understanding of GD&T and be proficient with all types of hand driven measuring equipment.

- Minimum of 5 years of experience performing CNC machine setups, cutting tool builds, and operation of CNC equipment
- Firm understanding of G & M codes
- Basic understanding of GD&T
- Able to create and interpret blueprints and part drawings
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and safety
- Journey-Level Certification in Machining or Tool & Die
- Ability to lift 50 pounds and perform repetitive tasks
- Ability to follow procedures and directions with minimal instruction
- Able to work overtime as needed

Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Set up and operate various manual & CNC mills and lathes
- Reviews drawings, instructions, blueprints, or samples to ensure accurate production
- Provide machinability feedback to programming and engineering
- Optimize production programs to reduce cycle times
- Plans proper sequence of tasks to complete the assignment
- Monitors production, assisting Machine Operators as necessary
- Maintains inventory of completed products
- Checks output for quality assurance and documents or discards defects
- Identifies need for and performs machine maintenance and minor repairs
- Maintains a safe and clean workstation
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related tasks as needed.
- Mentor or willing to be a team builder for less experienced operators
