Job Description
Scope
The Classroom Teacher will be the spiritual leader in the classroom by modeling prayer and love toward students in a Christ-like manner. He / she will effectively plan and execute lessons, with appropriate strategies, for student mastery of content. The teacher will recognize all students learn differently and will implement motivating and engaging learning strategies designed to meet the needs of all learners. This method of teaching will contribute to students' development as mature, able, and responsible Christian men and women to the praise and glory of God. He / she will also manage / monitor student learning in an encouraging classroom environment that allows for students to grow in depth of knowledge. The teacher will engage in professional development training and collaborative learning opportunities for growth in professional relationships and growth in his / her craft of teaching.
Qualifications
The candidate shall possess characteristics that reflect :
- A strong clear Christian testimony with a mature and godly spirit
- A daily example of the highest Christian virtue both in and out of school
- Commitment to faithful attendance and support of a church whose beliefs are in agreement with the Statement of Faith for Christian Academy
- Agreement and belief that The Bible is the final authority concerning truth, morality, and the proper conduct of mankind
The ideal candidate shall possess the following :
Bachelor's degree requiredCurrent state teaching certificate / licenseHave completed at least 24 semester hours in subject taught for "major part of the day"Have completed at least 12 semester hours in subject taught for "less than major part of the day"Have completed at least 12 hours in professional education courseworkMeet certification guidelines required to obtain and maintain active ACSI teacher certification throughout employmentAccountabilities / Responsibilities
