What are the responsibilities and job description for the Faculty - High School - Math position at Christian Academy of Knoxville?
The High School Math Teacher will be responsible for teaching courses in Math, including honors and AP levels. The teacher should understand subject-specific content and instructional strategies and demonstrate well-developed organizational and communication skills. Additionally, the teacher should be knowledgeable about variable learning styles and how to apply this understanding in the classroom.
The CAK teacher must be a spiritually sensitive individual who aligns with the mission and philosophy of the school. The teacher must be a born-again Christian with spiritual maturity in academic and leadership abilities that enable them to teach God's truth. Effective communication with various types of people, appropriate handling of confidential information, and maintaining a courteous, professional, and respectful attitude and integrity are essential prerequisites. CAK offers an aggressive traditional college preparatory curriculum with traditional scheduling, but the most important element in making CAK effective is our teachers' strong leadership and excellence.
Requirements:The High School Math Teacher will teach all levels of Math to high school students, performing the following duties:
- Instruct and Engage: Deliver lectures, facilitate discussions, and use visual aids and other effective teaching methods to ensure student comprehension. Foster a passion for academic excellence and character development, preparing students for college and lifelong success.
- Prepare Curriculum: Develop course objectives and outlines following state and school curriculum guidelines.
- Monitor and Adjust: Carefully track student progress, making necessary instructional adjustments to ensure their success. Administer tests, record results, and prepare reports to inform parents of their child's progress.
- Maintain Classroom Standards: Keep accurate attendance records, ensure discipline, assign lessons, and grade homework promptly.
- Family Communication: Communicate regularly with families as partners in their children's education.
- Professional Development: Participate in faculty meetings, educational conferences, and teacher training workshops.
- Additional Responsibilities: Sponsor student activities or organizations, assist students in selecting their course of study, and provide academic counseling and support.
- Collaboration: Offer collaborative support to teachers, staff, and parents.
- Professionalism: Demonstrate proactive behavior, critical thinking, and excellent communication skills. Exhibit strong written, verbal, organizational, and interpersonal abilities. Maintain attention to detail, timely implementation, and high-quality performance.
