Job Overview :
As an Automotive Estimator / Dispatcher with Christian Brothers Automotive, you will play a critical role in our automotive shop, ensuring that every guest receives top-notch service and their vehicle is repaired to the highest standards. With your excellent communication and organizational skills, you will coordinate with technicians, answer guest inquiries, and maintain an organized repair log to ensure maximum productivity and efficiency.
As an Estimator / Dispatcher, you will also work closely with part supply vendors and other external partners to ensure that we always have the right tools and equipment to get the job done right. As part of our team, you'll have the opportunity to build lasting relationships with our vendors and guests, helping us maintain our reputation as a trusted and reliable automotive shop.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to :
1- Assigning Technicians : Dispatching the right technician(s) to each job based on skill, availability, and the complexity of the repair.
2- Monitoring Workflow : Ensuring that work is progressing on schedule and intervening when necessary to avoid delays, ensuring proper prioritization of urgent repairs.
3- Collaborating with service advisors : to assess the level of work needed on each vehicle and making sure the team is prepared for each task.
3- Coordinating Parts : Receiving parts into the Tekmetric system and distributing them to the technicians.
4- Managing Shop Inventory : Keeping track of shop supplies and equipment to ensure everything needed for the day's work is available.
5- Ensuring Shop Efficiency : Optimizing workflow to maximize the shop’s capacity while maintaining high standards of quality and customer service.
Qualifications
Qualifications :
The Dispatcher position requires a well rounded understanding of the automotive industry as a whole. Because the dispatcher is involved with both ends of the vehicle repair, from writeup to repair to delivery, they must be able to interact with individuals and situations at any point in the repair process and know how to handle it. A dispatcher must be able to interact with guests, office staff and technicians and recognize the responsibilities of each individual. In order to properly dispatch work to the correct technician a dispatcher must be able to understand what is involved in any given repair or diagnostic and match it with the technician best suited for that job based on skill, availability, and workload. Additionally a Dispatcher must have great communication skills. The dispatcher will work alongside every individual at the shop and needs to be able to clearly dictate what needs to be done for problem solving, workflow, encouragement and action planning.
Physical Requirements :
- Being dependable and reliable for a position that is scheduled for Monday – Friday, 7am – 6pm
- Being on your feet the majority of the workday (standing, walking, coordinating parts, etc.)
- Occasionally lifting and carrying objects over 50 lbs.
- Keeping a brisk work pace in a high-volume environment
