Automotive Technician / Mechanic Job Description
An experienced Automotive Technician/Mechanic is required to work at Christian Brothers Automotive in Mooresville, NC.
The ideal candidate should possess ASE certifications, extensive knowledge of vehicle systems, and the ability to diagnose and repair both domestic and import vehicles.
Responsibilities include:
- Diagnosing and repairing vehicles for guests
- Building experience as an automotive mechanic across a wide range of domestic and foreign vehicles
- Completing full, accurate, and honest courtesy vehicle inspections
- Working as part of a team to troubleshoot guest concerns quickly and effectively
- FOLLOWING AND PROMOTING HIGH STANDARDS OF SAFETY, CLEANLINESS, AND ORGANIZATION
- Working closely with the service department and effectively communicating guest concerns
- Collaborating with other Technicians to solve problems, meet deadlines, and deliver distinguished results
Qualifications:
- A positive attitude and a desire to serve customers
- 5 years of experience as an automotive technician/mechanic
- Current ASE Certifications preferred; Master, L1 a plus (or a plan to achieve)
- NC State Inspector License preferred
- Ability to diagnose and repair all makes/models of vehicles
- Strong experience with both domestic and import vehicles
- Ability to flag 40-50 hours per week
- Knowledgeable with reflashing/reprogramming process, all vehicle systems
- Demonstrated diagnostic and service expertise in the areas of driveability, electrical, powertrain/drivetrain systems, and other mechanical systems, domestic and import
- Diesel Experience helpful but required
- Aptitude for learning additional skills and processes
- Professional appearance and strong communication
- A desire for long-term career development
- Must possess a valid North Carolina driver's license
Physical Requirements:
- Occasionally lifting and/or moving over 100 pounds
- Being able to work with tools on vehicles lifted above their head
- Working in tight spaces as dictated by the vehicle's needed repair
- Having the needed dexterity in order to efficiently use hand tools
- Walking/standing for the majority of their workday
- Driving manual transmissions vehicles
- Efficiently navigating a computer
