Join us at Christian Brothers Services, where our mission is to support and serve the Catholic Church and its ministries across the nation. Our Consulting Solutions Division has a part-time opening (20 hours per week) for a Sr. Human Resources Consultant. The role of the Sr. Human Resources Consultant is to manage the day-to-day operations of the human resources functions at a client’s office. The Sr. Human Resources Consultant must live within 50 miles of Tarrytown, NY. The office locations for this position are Tarrytown, client offices, and remote.
Pay Rate: $50.00/hr.
Duties:
- Plan, organize and control all operational activities of the client’s Human Resources Department in accordance with applicable regulatory agencies and the client’s established policies and procedures.
- Develop, revise, interpret and implement effective HR policies and procedures, and advises management on their effective and consistent administration.
- Manage the recruitment and selection process effectively to include, but not limited to the following: place ads as directed; process resumes and applications; screen and schedule interviews on behalf of hiring managers as requested.
- Conduct onboarding program with new employees and ensures receipt of employee handbook.
- Administer the client’s wage and compensation program.
- Participate in annual budget preparation by preparing salary recommendations based on market data, changes in legislation and employee retention.
- Administer employee benefits program in accordance with client’s established policies and procedures.
- Maintain current knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations that may impact the ongoing benefits program(s).
- Strengthen the employer-employee relationship through the identification and resolution of workplace issues.
- Oversee the maintenance of employee files, records, documents in accordance with recordkeeping regulations and with responsibility for accuracy and confidentiality.
- Manage the administrative duties of the leave of absence process including accurate and timely correspondence, recordkeeping of leave timelines and deadlines, and ensuring the continuation of employee benefits, where applicable.
- Receive and accurately process annual open enrollment and employee benefit change requests.
- Assume responsibility for ACA reporting when required.
- Manage effective employee performance evaluation program.
- Update job knowledge regularly by participating in educational opportunities, seminars and workshops, as well as reading professional publications when available.
- Represent Human Resources by demonstrating a positive, helpful attitude. Work collaboratively with all client’s leadership, employees, prospective employees and outside vendors.
- Performs special projects and other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree, minimum of 5 years’ progressive experience in Human Resources required; generalist background preferred. Leadership skills including coaching, team building, communication, and critical thinking are required. Experience in a not-for-profit setting preferred.

Must possess strong planning, problem solving and analytical skills with the ability to work and drive multiple projects with minimal supervision.

Must be able to maintain a high degree of accuracy.

Ability to maintain the highest level of client and division confidentiality, including, but not limited to HIPAA.

PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP preferred.
Skills:
- Proficient with Microsoft Office products including Word and Excel.

Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to type, use a telephone, and sit for long periods of time.
