Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Food Service Director to oversee the daily operation of our food service. This is a year-round part-time position with opportunities for growth and development. The ideal candidate will have experience in food service, leadership skills, and a passion for Christian ministry.
About the Role
The Food Service Director will be responsible for planning and preparing delicious meals for guests and campers, managing kitchen staff, and ensuring compliance with health regulations. They will also lead by example, demonstrating excellent customer service skills and a commitment to providing high-quality dining experiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and prepare healthy and appealing meals for large groups
- Manage and lead kitchen staff, including scheduling and training
- Maintain compliance with all governmental regulations and ensure safe food handling practices
- Provide exceptional customer service and ensure guest satisfaction
- Manage departmental budget and track food costs
- Recruit and train church volunteers during summer and special events
Requirements
- Prior experience in food service or hospitality
- Leadership skills and ability to manage staff
- Passion for Christian ministry and commitment to LSCA's Statement of Faith and Core Values
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask
- Culinary training or certification preferred
Working Conditions
This is a year-round part-time position, approximately 20-30 hours per week. Some overtime may be required during peak seasons. Housing is not included, but other benefits may be available.
