General Description:
The Housekeeping/Laundry Aide works under the supervision of the Director of Support Services and performs the following tasks: cleans resident rooms, cleans public areas, assists other departments in moving residents to different rooms, and other cleaning duties as assigned such as laundry as needed.
Essential Job Functions:
- Ensures that sanitation and safety standards are maintained above levels that are acceptable according to state and federal regulations
- Ensures that housekeeping areas are safe and sanitary
- Is responsible for using the Christian Care chain of command
- Ensures self and all support service staff care for and use resident property with honesty and integrity at all times'
- Upholds the mission statement, values and goals of Christian Care
- Responsible for knowledge of and compliance, where applicable, with regulatory or credentialing agencies such as state and federal agencies, Medicare and Medicaid, and any other agency
- Meet all laundry schedules
- Avoid waste with chemicals used
- Ensures that sanitation and safety standards are maintained above levels that are acceptable according to state and federal regulations
- Assures that proper storage of laundry items complies with current guidelines.
- Ensures that the laundry area is safe and sanitary
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment according to department procedures
- Attend or complete in-service education and departmental meetings as required
- Maintain an upbeat and positive attitude in the laundry and public areas to all staff and family members
- Responsible for all policies and procedures as they relate to the support services department
- Compliance with facility policies and procedures for workplace safety, including infection control procedures, application of universal precautions for blood borne pathogens, use of protective equipment, and handling of hazardous materials
- Ensures maintenance of confidentiality of resident information by self
- Ensures self and all support service staff care for and use resident property with honesty and integrity at all times
- Carry out all duties in accordance with the facility mission, values and philosophy
- Care for and use facility property with honesty and integrity
- Respond to change productively and handle additional projects as delegated
- Prioritize responsibilities and complete projects within allotted time
- Performs other tasks as necessary and appropriate when assigned
