About Airway Heights Baptist Church
Airway Heights Baptist Church is a Christ-focused, community-oriented congregation with 110 active members/attendees, providing spiritual outreach to the surrounding areas of: Fairchild Air Force base, City of Airway Heights, Medical Lake, Cheney, and other areas of the Spokane County West Plains region. The church also supports a K-12 Christian school on campus. Airway Heights Baptist Church is seeking a bi-vocational pastor to continue and expand outreach efforts to increase the demographics of our congregation and lead more people to Christ, providing spiritual and administrative leadership to the church and the school.
Purpose
The pastor will lead by example through continued spiritual growth and development using, as a guideline for personal behavior, the standard required in I Timothy 3:1-7 and I Peter 5:1-4. The pastor will be responsible to the church for proclaiming the gospel of Jesus Christ, for using one's skills in administrative leadership, for engaging in pastoral care ministries to meet the needs of persons in the church and in the community by working in conjunction with the administrative and pastoral staff.

Required Qualifications
- Must be a professing Christian in agreement with Southern Baptist Church doctrine and Baptist Faith and Message 2000
- Biblically based financial philosophy
- Must be ordained as a Pastor by a Southern Baptist Church
- Has worked with bi-vocational staff
- Experienced with military base outreach
- Background in building and grounds management
- Has developed spiritual outreach to local communities
- Has experience with youth and young adult programs
- All responsibilities of the pastor are conducted in conjunction with the Pastoral Staff and Church Leadership Team.
- Maintain a regular program of study to enable oneself to plan and conduct Bible-based and Holy Spirit led worship services
- Lead in the observance of the ordinances and lead the church in proclaiming the gospel to the church and community
- Visit members and prospects and lead the membership in a visitation program
- Conduct pre-marital, vocational, family, bereavement, & Biblical discipleship, as needed; and recommend other professional help when necessary
- Perform weddings and funerals
- Work with deacons, church officers, and committees in performing assigned responsibilities
- Lead the Pastoral Staff in the construction of mentoring and training opportunities for spiritual growth and development
- Lead the church in cooperating with associational, state, and denominational leaders, & keep the church informed of developments within the denomination
- Serve as a spiritual representative of the church in civic matters
- Lead the church spiritually to seek out the unsaved
- Look for, plan, and develop opportunities for evangelistic outreach and church renewal
- Serve on the Church Leadership Team in the planning, organizing, directing, coordinating and evaluating the total church program
- Act as moderator for church business meetings
- Communicate and work with the Christian School administration
