Glorieta is seeking a passionate, goal-oriented, and mission-driven Development Director to join the team at Glorieta Adventure Camps, a Christian non-profit camp committed to providing life-changing experiences for youth and families through faith-based programs.

MISSION STATEMENT  To inspire Christ-like change through, Outdoor Adventure, Authentic Relationships and Biblical Truth

Location: Remote Work with Travel for Donor Relations (Texas or Oklahoma preferred, Midwest and Southwest considered)

In this remote role with travel opportunities, the Development Director plays a vital part in fostering meaningful relationships with existing and potential donors, all while working from the comfort of your own location. This flexible position combines the autonomy of remote work with the excitement of travel to key donor locations and meetings.

JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Title: Development Director

  • Department: Administrative Support Department

  • Reports To: Chief Financial Officer with direct line to Executive Director

Job Purpose: To fulfill the mission of inspiring Christ-like change by cultivating relationships, securing financial support, and ensuring the long-term sustainability of our ministry. This individual will work closely with leadership, donors, volunteers, and community partners to develop and implement fundraising strategies that align with the vision and values.  

Overall Responsibility and Expectations

  1. Donor Cultivation and Stewardship:

    1. Build and maintain relationships with current and potential donors to increase financial support of $850K annually.

    2. Develop personalized communication and stewardship plans to recognize, thank, and update donors regularly on the impact of the gifts.

    3. Coordinate and attend donor visits, calls, and meetings, fostering deeper engagement with the ministry.

  2. Campaign Management:

    1. Partner with the development team in special fundraising campaigns (e.g., capital campaigns, end-of-year appeals, and online crowdfunding initiatives).

    2. Collaborate with the development and marketing teams to promote campaigns through various media channels (email, social media, newsletters, etc.).

  3. Financial Tracking and Reporting:

    1. Track fundraising progress against goals and provide regular updates to the CFO, Executive Director, Board, and key stakeholders.

    2. Maintain accurate donor records, and ensure proper acknowledgment and tax documentation for donations.

  4. Team Collaboration:

    1. Collaborate with the development team to set and reach goals.

    2. Work closely with the camp’s leadership, program directors, and volunteers to ensure alignment of fundraising efforts with camp programming and mission.

    3. Help create and implement communications that reflect the ministry’s values, such as newsletters, annual reports, and donor updates.

Character, Education, Abilities, Skills, Experience:

The “ideal” candidate will have:

  • Faith-Based Commitment: Strong alignment with the Christian mission and values of the camp; commitment to furthering its ministry through fundraising efforts.

  • Experience: Minimum 3 years of fundraising experience, preferably in the non-profit or Christian ministry sector.

  • Skills: 

    • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills.

    • Proven ability to develop and execute fundraising strategies.

    • Strong writing skills with experience in donor communications and reporting.

  • Knowledge: Understanding of fundraising best practices and donor stewardship.

  • Tech-Savvy: Proficiency in electronic data entry in Salesforce platform and reporting.

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., nonprofit management, communications, or business) is preferred.

  • Work Ethic: Self-starter with the ability to work independently and as part of a team, handling multiple priorities with enthusiasm and dedication.

Preferred Qualifications:  

  • Experience with fundraising and familiarity with the Christian non-profit landscape.

  • Experience with digital fundraising and communication strategies.

Compensation: Salary starting at $50K-$80K (based on experience), medical sharing benefit at $0 to employee, 401(k) retirement package after one year, and paid vacation time. See HR and/or potential supervisor for details.
