High School History Teacher - Hill Country Christian SchoolSchool Session: 10 months
School Week: Mon-Thursday (Full-Time is 32 hours per week)
The teaching staff of Hill Country Christian School holds a key place in the successful, fruitful ministry of the school. Teachers share with parents the responsibility of educating children according to the Word of God. The role includes all aspects of teaching, classroom management, and student/parent interactions. The qualified teacher will be responsible for supervising a learning environment that guides and encourages students to fulfill the students academic potential and promotes positive spiritual development.
REQUIREMENTS:
Relevant degree required, teaching or relevant experience preferred
Solid knowledge of subject matter including subject-specific curriculum
Evidence of a mature, personal Christian faith

JOB DUTIES:
Prayerfully minister to students in a way that will contribute to their development as open, able, and responsible Christians.
Teach all subject matter assigned in the designated grade(s)
Maintain classroom environment conducive to the students’ spiritual, physical, academic, and social development
Encourage the development of critical thinking skills and high academic standards
Develop syllabus, daily lesson plans and devotions as needed
Report and record student progress through means of report cards, attendance records, and conference
Establish and maintain standards of student behavior that conform to school policies and promote learning in the classroom
Attend school training and meetings as required
Maintain good written and verbal communication with students, parents, and administration
Cooperate with the administration and other faculty in seeking the school’s overall success.
Maximize the appropriate use of technology in the classroom as an instructional tool
Continually endeavor to develop and improve teaching skills
Fulfill assigned duties in a positive manner (i.e. lunch duty, House Head, help with school events, etc.)
