Cherokee Christian School is a Pre-K through 12 classical Christian school located in beautiful Woodstock, Georgia, a wooded northern suburb of Atlanta, Georgia, in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. The modern and tree-shaded 15-acre campus is centrally located and enjoys easy access to major freeways into Atlanta and Atlanta Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport. The school is committed to providing the students with a learning environment that enables the students to grow in knowledge, wisdom, and virtue so that the students are prepared for a life of fruitful service and faithfulness to the Lord. The classical Christian curriculum is based upon a time-tested educational system which establishes a biblical worldview, incorporates methods based on natural phases of intellectual and spiritual development, cultivates the seven Christian virtues, trains students in reasoning through the Trivium (Grammar, Logic, and Rhetoric), and engages student in “the great conversation” through the historical Great Books.
Cherokee Christian School is currently seeking highly qualified candidates, who are passionate about classical Christian education, to fill an opening for an Instructional Assistant in the Primary School for the 25-26 school year. The responsibilities are :
- Provides direct instruction to students in reading, mathematics, social studies, science, and other subjects in small groups or in breakout instructional sections.
- Provide specialized instruction and / or educational support to students requiring additional or remedial instruction.
- Collaborate with the lead classroom teacher in the preparation of lesson plans and curriculum implementation.
- Support the lead classroom teacher in the administration of classroom discipline and the enforcement of school policies.
- Act as acting lead teacher when the lead classroom teacher is out ill, absent from school, or otherwise unable to act as lead classroom teacher.
- Collaborate with the lead classroom teacher in the performance of student assessments and the administration of diagnostic testing.
- Prepare the classroom and other learning spaces for instruction and student use.
- Collaborate with the lead classroom teacher in modifying instructional and curriculum materials to meet the specific needs of particular students and documenting such modifications.
Cherokee Christian School seeks educators who are passionate about Christian education and filled with the joy of forming young students intellectually, spiritually, morally, and socially. A bachelor's degree is a plus.
