Konocti Christian Academy provides academic excellence in a distinctively Christian environment. KCA strives to help children reach one's highest potential by providing supportive, experienced teachers, a caring student body, and a rigorous curriculum. The goal is to guide students to develop academically, socially, and spiritually just as Jesus did, “in wisdom, stature and favor with God and man.” (Luke 2:52)
KCA offers education for students in kindergarten through eighth grade and also provides an after school care program. The experienced teachers and aides currently serve the student body with heart and dedication. Class size is small allowing for individualized instruction and attention.
KCA is a non-profit corporation and non-denominational private Christian school that is not affiliated with any one church. Its board, staff, and members of the student body attend various local churches within the community.
Principal Job Responsibilities:
The KCA Principal reports directly to the board and shall act as a liaison between the Board, staff, students and parents. The KCA Principal shall:
Help oversee the day-to-day activities of the school and support teachers, aides, and staff in their areas of responsibility.
Serve in a mentoring capacity to teachers and support staff, and discuss any concerns the teacher might have regarding students, parents, discipline, etc.
Build rapport with the board members and ensure policies and procedures are set and achieved.
Make recommendations to the Board for new programs and/or services to enhance educational experience, build Godly character in children, etc.
Assist Vice Principal, teachers, and staff with discipline issues. Initiate fair, responsive discipline to students as well as follow up with those students and parents to work through discipline issues to a successful resolution.
Review and reply daily to emails/phone calls from the Board, staff, and parents.
Follow-up on all new enrollment inquiries. Coordinate and conduct new student/ parent interviews.
Create a monthly report to the Board detailing situations, events, and recommendations and/or issues for follow-up.
Investigate and complete applications/proposals for grants or awards for school funding.
Evaluate staff and overall teaching effectiveness to ensure student progress.
Source and coordinate teacher training opportunities and provide guidance.
Interview and hire school staff, including teachers, aides, office, custodial and janitorial employees.
Stay up to date and comply with local, state, and federal education regulations.
Keep parents up to date and include them in student and school progress and plans.
All other duties and responsibilities assigned by the Board.
Work Hours, Salary, and Benefits: (The following information is according to the current 2024-2025 contract, and may be subject to change until the 2025-2026 contract has been approved by the KCA Board.)
Contract begins in July 2025 and ends in June 2026.
Work Hours: 7:30am-3:30pm, Monday through Friday; Flexible summer hours
Starting salary pay range: $55,000 - $65,000
Benefits:
Sick Days: 5 sick days for the year
Personal Days: 6 personal days for the year
Vacation Days: All standard school holidays which are listed in the school calendar. 40 hours paid vacation in July or August as well.
Tuition Waiver: The tuition for children of the Principal/Administrator shall be waived. Registration and annual fees will not be waived.
After-School Teaching and Enrichment Program (ASTEP) Fees Waived: Annual registration and supply fee will not be waived.
Parent Involvement (PI) Hours Waived: The Principal/Administrator’s annual requirement for PI hours shall be waived.
Health Care Benefits: KCA will pay for 12 months of Christian Healthcare Ministry Gold Program plus Brother’s Keeper for the Principal/Administrator.
Dental and Vision: KCA will give a $1000 yearly stipend toward personal Dental and Vision coverage.
Retirement Benefit: KCA will match the Principal/Administrator’s contributions in an amount that is up to 3% of the Principal/Administrator’s annual salary to a simple individual retirement account (IRA) with Team Insurance; Financial Service, Inc.

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Familiarity with local, state, and federal education policies and regulations
Understanding of current learning and teaching styles

Proficient at resolving conflicts quickly and diplomatically
Education and Experience Requirements:
A bachelor’s degree or higher is preferred
At least 5-7 years’ experience in the classroom is preferred
Current teaching license or certification is preferred
Proven commitment to student welfare and educational excellence
