Qualifications :
Graduate of an 80-120 hour nursing assistant course and registered to practice as a Certified Nursing Assistant in Wisconsin. High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Able to think and work independently as well as under direction. Comfortable in a fast-paced and sometimes stressful environment. No lifting or bending restrictions. Previous healthcare facility experience preferred. Strong communication skills and a compassionate bedside manner. Able to work collaboratively with diverse team members. Acceptable criminal background check. Reports To :
Charged under the supervision of the Charge Nurse or Shift Supervisor.
Essential Job Functions :
As a Certified Nursing Associate, you will provide routine nursing care to residents, ensuring adherence to facility and state / federal guidelines.
Specific Job Duties :
Flexibility in assignments, including responding to staffing emergencies. Demonstrate the ability to prioritize and plan resident care effectively. Gather essential information regarding residents. Assist residents with daily hygiene and personal grooming needs, including bathing, grooming, and oral care. Utilize proper techniques for lifting, transferring, and helping residents move. Address special care needs, including incontinence, skin, catheter, and colostomy care. Provide restorative care and range of motion exercises as needed. Support resident admissions, discharges, and room transfers. Encourage residents to maintain adequate nutrition and hydration. Recognize physical distress and act promptly to assist residents. Report any physical or psychological concerns to appropriate staff immediately. Respect resident choices in daily activities. Follow individual care plans and ensure resident rights are maintained. Report any observed abuse promptly. Contribute to the development and updates of resident care plans. Encourage self-care among residents as suitable. Assist residents with the use of prosthetics. Measure and record vital signs, along with residents’ heights and weights. Facilitate diversional activities to enhance resident well-being. Maintain cleanliness and sanitation in client areas. Communicate effectively and respectfully with residents, families, and team members. Adhere to safety measures for both residents and staff. Implement proper infection control procedures. Comply with all rules and regulations set by regulatory bodies. Maintain active relationships with the nursing team and other departments. Uphold customer satisfaction and positive interactions within the community. Participate in nursing report sessions. Attend training sessions, meetings, and inservices as required. Follow assigned work schedules and maintain good personal hygiene and dress code. Assume additional duties as assigned by nursing supervisors. Stay updated on CNA training, policies, and procedures. Physical Requirements :
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Frequent stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, bending, twisting, and reaching. Manual lifting capabilities up to 35 pounds, and occasionally up to 50 pounds. Pay : $19.00-$25.00 per hour, based on experience. Shift differentials available for evening and overnight shifts.
