Job Overview
Christian Concern Communities provides affordable housing for older adults and individuals with disabilities at seven properties in Berks and Montgomery Counties. We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized part-time Bookkeeper to join our team.
The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting our daily operations by handling all accounts payable and accounts receivable for the organization. This position requires a strong understanding of financial concepts and accounting practices, making it essential for the candidate to possess relevant skills in budgeting, general ledger accounting, and accounting software, primarily QuickBooks.
Responsibilities
- Accounts Payable
- Accounts Receivable/Collections
- Payroll
- Maintain accurate financial records in QuickBooks
- Prepare and manage general ledger accounting entries and account reconciliations
- Track financial transactions and generate reports
- Manage bank runs and deposits
- Maintain organized financial filing system
- Support tax preparation activities by organizing necessary documentation
- Collaborate with Executive Accounting Manager as needed for audits or compliance
- Maintain knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) to ensure accuracy in financial reporting
- Provide administrative support to ensure efficient operation of the office
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the overall objectives of the organization
Experience
- Proven experience as a Bookkeeper, an Administrative Assistant, or other financial roles
- Strong understanding of financial concepts, budgeting, and general ledger accounting
- Proficiency in QuickBooks accounting software (experience with Yardi property management software a plus)
- Experience with payroll software (i.e., ADP)
- Familiarity with public accounting practices and tax regulations is advantageous
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively interact with team members and Executive Director
