The Christian County is now accepting applications for a full time Public Administrator Deputy Clerk. This position provides administrative support to the Public Administrator’s Office including: Location and preparing documents for reporting to Probate Court, IRS, DFS, SS, and VA and all funding mechanisms by designated deadlines; Works closely with the Public Administrator program in EMS, as well as the County’s accounting software system; Scan, copy, keeps records, and communicate by email, fax or phone with a variety of groups and organizations for the client, sharing with facilities and providers as well as VA, FSD, SS, IRS; Record billable time in EMS for Document preparation; General correspondence to attorneys, clients, care facilities, utilities, as well as prepare and run Reports as needed; Communicating with minimal interaction with individuals with mental disabilities, developmentally disabled wards, minors, their families, their support staff, care providers and the public; Train new employees and fill in when PA is out of the office; Create, implement and organize new systems to make hard copy and electronic files more efficient; attend meetings and online training to acquire new information for the office; and all other duties as assigned.
Education/Experience:
Education: High School Diploma or GED Required
Experience: Minimum two years of relevant experience; Knowledge of Probate, Legal and Estate matters, Family Support Division/Medicare, Social Security, Veterans Affairs, as well as accounting is preferred.
This Deputy Clerk must be a critical thinker with attention to detail, must be able to prioritize and have strong time management skills. The ideal applicant must have the ability to communicate effectively, professionally and courteously with the general public and with the Public Administrator clients and their families. Must be able to readily identify and maintain confidential information. Computer, Typing, phones and office equipment experience preferred with an emphasis in Excel and Microsoft Software This position must be able to pass an extensive background check and a drug test.
