POSITION SUMMARY
The early childhood development intern works with the Lead and Assistant Teachers to provide a warm and loving atmosphere for children ages 6 weeks to 5 years at the Family Care KIDS Learning Center. Teachers and interns work together to support the spiritual, academic and social development of children in the Early Childhood Development Program. Interns must be able to work in a team setting, with patience, enthusiasm and respect for children.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES
- Encourages childrens social, emotional, cognitive, language and physical development skills through positive interactions.
- Assists teachers in implementing a curriculum based on Social/Emotional skills and Literacy.
- Assists with the basic needs of children.
- Follows all center policies and guidelines.
- Works with children experiencing difficulty as assigned.
- Performs other duties assigned by the Lead Teacher and/or Coordinator.
REQUIREMENTS
- Level one fingerprint clearance card
- Negative TB test
- Ability to pass DCS Background Check
- HS diploma or equivalent
- Must agree with CFC Statement of Faith
- Ability to spend time outdoors, lift at least 35lbs, crouch/bend over, sit on floor and stand for extended time periods.
