We have an exciting opportunity for a full-time Service- Activity Coordinator to join Siena Village. Siena Village is located in Wayne, NJ, and is a vibrant community for adults 62 and older. The Service - Activity Coordinator at Siena Village will provide support to the Resident Director and Leasing Manager along with coordinating resident events. Coordinate the service assessment program and social activities. Demonstrates an understanding of, and embrace, the mission statement of Christian Health.


Competencies:

  • Maintains organized work area.
  • Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Type, format and proofread materials, including correspondence, memos, reports, statistics, applications, agenda, and minutes for meetings, etc. in a timely manner.
  • Maintains administrative files in an organized manner and ensures confidentiality.
  • Demonstrates understanding of purpose of organization, regulatory environment, etc.
  • Maintains personal calendar of events, appointments and meetings.
  • Prepares and distributes monthly calendar.
  • Ensures that all programs are carried out consistent with facility policies and procedures.
  • In conjunction with Siena Village staff, develop, implement, and access policies with organization wide policies and practices.
  • Consult with residents to make sure their needs are being met.
  • Keep abreast of current activities as well as professional standards as related to policies and procedures.
  • Attend scheduled / organizational meetings as required.
  • Be abreast of all incidents, accidents, or unsafe conditions being reported.
  • Be flexible and adapt to changes in tasks as deemed necessary to provide excellent services to those we serve including: other departments, families, and the residents of our community.
  • Create good relationships between staff and residents and model behaviors at all times.
  • Provides an open line of communication with residents and employees to keep all informed of CH events.
  • Communicates internally and externally with interested parties to coordinate announcement of events and various functions, and to discuss organizational changes in a way that maintains a positive image.
  • Assists with the preparation of the community newsletter, website revisions and additional social media strategies.
  • Assist with other projects and social services related events.
  • Identify and access services using a refer and link approach.
  • Establish and sustain strong coordination that helps residents to effectively manage their preventative health and social service needs.
  • Create and sustain strong partnerships with community based supportive service providers, hospitals and health agency service providers.
  • Assist resident in accessing services using a refer and link approach. Monitor the ongoing provision of services from community agencies and keep documentation of the progress.
  • Serve as a liaison to community agencies, network with community service providers and seek out new services available to residents.
  • Sponsor events on topics that are relevant to the community such as lectures and screenings.
  • Organize and promote resident involvement in on and off site programs.
  • Provide primary coverage for the Community Coordinator for lunch, time off, etc.
  • Occasional evening and weekend hours are required for resident events.
  • In coordination with CH Marketing Department, develops and implements an in-house newsletter.
  • Creates flyers and postings via Canva and Touchtown to promote resident events.
  • Assess resident needs through a Needs Assessment upon move in. Input all information into AASC software.
  • Periodically conduct a community-wide Needs Assessment and input all information into AASC software.
  • Coordinate resident social events ranging from movies, educational presentations, cake and coffee, luncheons etc. with the purpose of creating good relationships between staff and residents.
  • Create a team of resident volunteers to assist with social events.
  • Ability and willingness to serve food and drink to residents at social events.


Qualifications:

  • Minimum of two years related experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills required.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Skills necessary for developing, coordinating and oversight of projects.
  • Good research and proofreading skills to ensure all materials are high-quality and accurate.


Schedule: Full-time, 8am-4pm, Monday - Friday.


Education: A bachelor's degree in social work or related field required.
