What are the responsibilities and job description for the Substitute Teacher position at Christian Heritage School Inc?
We are seeking Substitute Teachers (K-12) who will be responsible for operating a safe, orderly, and positive classroom environment while the regular teacher is absent. They will follow the teacher’s lesson plans and equip students with the knowledge and skills necessary to function as mature, responsible Christians in accordance with the school mission statement.
Preference will be given to candidates who are interested in substituting in the Lower School, available for multiple days, and flexible with accepting last-minute assignments, including those with less than 24 hours' notice or same-day requests.
Job Requirements
- A clear understanding and acceptance of basic Biblical principles
- An understanding of and adherence to the school’s Statement of Faith
- A love for and understanding of children and young people
- Maturity
- Ability to work as a team member
- Must provide current background check
Pay Rates for Assignments
- Regular: $132/full day or $68/half day
- Long-term teaching assignments of greater than 10 days, for an absent regular teacher: $150/full days or $75/half day
- 24 Hour Contingency (Last Minute): $140/full day or $70/half day
If a cancellation on the part of CHS occurs within 24 hours, the substitute will still be paid time for expected service even if service does not occur (example: teacher’s jury duty was cancelled the night before).
