Job Overview:
The Web and Digital Media Specialist is responsible for managing, developing, and optimizing the online presence of Christian Heritage School. This includes overseeing website development and maintenance, social media management, content creation, and digital marketing strategies. The role requires a blend of technical skills and creative thinking to enhance the school’s online visibility, user experience, and engagement across digital platforms.
Key Responsibilities:
- Website Management and Development:
- Oversee the school’s website design, development, and maintenance.
- Ensure the website is optimized for SEO, mobile responsiveness, and user experience.
- Implement website content updates, including text, images, videos, and other multimedia.
- Work closely with IT teams or third-party vendors to ensure website functionality, performance, and security.
- Monitor website analytics and traffic, reporting on performance and suggesting improvements.
- Digital Media Strategy / Content Development
- Develop and execute digital marketing strategies across social media platforms, including Facebook and Instagram.
- Manage and create engaging content (written, visual, and video) for social media channels.
- Monitor digital campaigns and analyze performance to ensure goals are met.
- SEO and Content Optimization:
- Optimize website and content for search engines (SEO) to improve rankings and visibility.
- Conduct keyword research to support content creation and digital campaigns.
- Create content with consistent messaging and adherence to brand guidelines.
- Analytics and Reporting:
- Utilize tools like Google Analytics and other platforms to track, measure, and analyze website performance and digital marketing efforts.
- Provide regular reports on website traffic, social media engagement, email campaigns, and other digital initiatives.
- Use data insights to make recommendations for improvements and optimizations.
- Email Marketing & Campaign Management:
- Develop and execute email marketing campaigns for various audiences.
- Monitor and report on email campaign performance, adjusting strategies for improved outcomes.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Proven experience (2 years preferred) in web design, digital marketing, and content creation/management.
- Experience with SEO, SEM, and Google Analytics.
- Strong understanding of social media platforms, email marketing tools, and digital advertising.
- Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, etc.) and Microsoft 365.
- Proven experience in photography with the ability to operate DSLR camera equipment.
- Proven experience in video editing with proficiency in Final Cut Pro, iMovie, or other video production software.
- Knowledge of HTML/CSS and basic programming languages (JavaScript, PHP) is a plus.
- Solid understanding of design principles (typography, color theory, composition, etc.).
- Strong written communication skills.
- Ability to learn, navigate, and contribute to a custom-built content management system (Finalsite) and mass notification system (FACTS).
- Ability to analyze data and create reports to inform decision-making.
- Creative, detail-oriented, and highly organized.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to accept and provide constructive feedback.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of UX/UI design principles.
- Familiarity with paid media campaigns (Google Ads, Facebook Ads, etc.).
- Certification in digital marketing, SEO, or related fields.
