Overview:
The Visual Merchandising Coordinator will provide VM support at the boutique level, reinforcing visual standards, upholding the brand identity and helping achieve retail excellence while driving sales growth. This position reports into the Director of Visual Merchandising and Retail Projects.
Responsibilities:
- Travel to boutiques in NY Metro area 2x monthly, Northeast and Southeast 1-2x quarterly – with frequent travel throughout the Americas as needed.
- Conduct boutique visits to execute VM and provide VM training to the teams. Develop a relationship with the boutique teams to foster ownership and accountability.
- Cultivate a culture where maintaining brand integrity and excellence is a shared responsibility, while ensuring the VM structure for display upkeep is followed with attention to detail and accountability.
- Implement floor sets with excellent skill, creating cohesive fashion stories, adapting to meet each boutique’s individual needs.
- Facilitate communication and touch bases with field teams, collect VM photos and provide guidance and feedback. Ensure execution of VM direction and standards are adhered to.
- Maintain the regions VM photos and communication log - upload/archive all VM photos.
- Partner with Regional Directors and Boutique Managers to successfully support current business trends with visual needs as they arise.
- Review Best Seller reports and On-Hand inventory levels ensuring optimum use of product to increase sales in boutiques.
- Assist in the editing and creation of Seasonal VM Directives and Trainings for the region. Helping to communicate VM Guidelines to all teams for full visibility.
- Work cross-departmentally with Global VM and Image teams; as well as local Buying, Store Development, Events and Retail Ops/Excellence teams.
- Facilitate the coordination and help to oversee Window and Pop-Up installations, collecting photos, feedback and learnings to present to Global and internal teams.
- Support VM team in ordering VM Props/ Tools and décor elements, ensuring project deadlines are being met.
- Provide regular reports of Windows/VM Props status in the boutiques, evaluating and summarizing improvements and recommendations to the Director and Global.
- Maintain team calendar, ensuring that key activations, new store openings and special projects are communicated.
- Assist in sourcing and scheduling photography for new store openings and special projects.
- Consistently stay up-to-date on current luxury market VM trends and creatively problem solve to better display product.
- Support new store openings, special event setups, and responsible for the merchandising of the showroom for market and press days.
- Comfortable acting as a Brand Ambassador when in the boutique, upholding the Maison Christian Louboutin client experience.
- Collaborate on special projects as needed.
Qualifications:
- 2 years of VM experience in a luxury or similar retail environment.
- Degree in Visual Merchandising, Interior Design, or equivalent work experience.
- Demonstrates strong follow-up and follow-through, showing initiative.
- Proactive and creative thinker with strong problem-solving capabilities.
- Collaborative team player, able to work effectively across the company.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, with a professional presentation.
- Knowledgeable about current VM and design trends.
- Creative with a refined sense of style, able to understand and implement the brand image.
- Comfortable with ambiguity, while receptive to direction and constructive feedback.
- Ability to travel up to 40% of the time with flexibility.
- Flexible work hours based on project needs – weekends and overnight installations.
- Proficient with Microsoft applications and Adobe Photoshop.
- Team player in both retail and corporate environments, “no task is too big or too small” attitude; is committed, positive, and reliable.

Christian Louboutin envisions the general compensation range for this position to be $55k- $60k per YEAR. *Please note that this range is NOT inclusive of any other forms of compensation or benefits such as commissions overtime, discretionary bonus, health insurance, retirement savings or paid leaves of absence. Such details will be further communicated during the interview process and/or at the time of an official offer of employment.
