What are the responsibilities and job description for the Night Cleaning Crew position at Christian School?
Education and Experience:
- Required
- Must be able to pass criminal background check suitable for working in a children’s environment
- Eligible to work in the U.S.
- Ability to anticipate needs of teachers and staff, change goals and direction quickly and multitask
- Proven comfort and experience to interact effectively and appropriately with all levels of management, school staff, students, and guests.
- Preferred
- Previous experience in similar field of work or possess a teachable self-starting attitude
- Attention to detail a plus
- Experience in a school/non profit background

- Handle confidential information appropriately
- Daily, Weekly and as Needed Duties/Tasks
- Empty wastebaskets / removal of trash
- Dust mop floors
- Wet mop and disinfect floors
- Vacuum carpets and rugs
- Clean and disinfect sinks and drinking fountains
- Clean and disinfect bathrooms including: toilets, urinals and pipes
- Empty sanitary napkin receptacles
- Checking and restocking of all paper goods
- Clean and disinfect doors knobs / handles
- Clean doors, door jabs, cabinets, and partitions
- Spot clean walls and ceilings
- Replace lights or report to supervisor for replacement
- Clean baseboards
- Clean light fixtures
- Dusting of HVAC vents, window blinds and sills, locker tops and around classrooms
- Removal of cobwebs and dirt dobber from walls, ceilings and corners
- Clean whiteboards and chalkboards
- Sweep outdoor mats
- Additional Tasks and Duties
- Cleaning after sporting or church events
- Removal of outdoor trash
- Assisting with set up of tables or chairs for special events
- Assisting with monthly, quarterly, semi-annual and annual cleaning projects including: Carpet and Rug shampoo, extensive classroom cleaning, cleaning outdoor windows, touching up wall paint and minor maintenance repairs
Physical Requirements:
- ability to stand and/or walk approximately 90% of the workday
- speak and hear clearly
- operate a computer, hand-held learning devices or other technology
- reach, bend, stoop, twist, and lift/move up to 30 pounds.
Expected Schedule Requirements (unless otherwise approved by supervisor):
- Standard School Day Arrival
- Hours of employment will be Monday – Friday from 3-6:30 pm or as determined by supervisor
- Summer Hours
- As directed/needed by the Director of Operations/Night Staff Supervisor
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $16.50 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 15 per week
