Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated In Home Caregiver to provide non-medical, essential support and care for individuals in their homes. This role is vital in assisting clients with daily living activities, ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being. The ideal candidate will have experience in various healthcare and/or home settings and possess a strong understanding of care for clients both young and elderly, from respite only to more hands-on duties.
Duties
- Assist clients with personal hygiene tasks such as bathing, grooming, and dressing.
- Provide companionship and engage clients in meaningful conversations and activities.
- Help with meal preparation and ensure proper nutrition for clients.
- Prompt clients to adhere to medication regimen as prescribed and monitor health conditions.
- Assist with mobility. Availability to transport clients to/from appointments and activities is flexible.
- Maintain a clean and safe living environment for clients.
- Document care provided and report any changes in the client's condition to family members or healthcare professionals as needed.
- Support clients with physical therapy exercises as directed by healthcare providers.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in caregiving or related fields.
- Familiarity with working with equipment such as lifts and gait belt.
- Ability to provide compassionate care while respecting client privacy and dignity.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with clients, families, and healthcare professionals.
- Ability to perform physical tasks associated with caregiving duties.
- Certification in CPR/First Aid is advantageous but not mandatory; training may be provided.
