Responsibilities
- Assist clients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance the well-being of clients.
- Monitor and document patient observations, reporting any changes in health or behavior to the appropriate personnel.
- Assist with mobility and transfers, including heavy lifting when necessary.
- Ensure a safe and clean environment for clients by maintaining hygiene standards and following infection control protocols.
- Support individuals with memory care needs, including those with dementia or other cognitive impairments.
- Respect resident rights and promote independence while providing necessary assistance.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to implement care plans tailored to each client’s unique needs.
Skills
- Experience in senior care, home health, or long-term care settings is preferred.
- Knowledge of memory care techniques and dementia care strategies is beneficial.
- Strong patient observation skills to identify changes in health status or behavior.
- Familiarity with first aid practices is an asset.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and effectively when assisting clients.
