What are the responsibilities and job description for the Part Time In-Home Respite Provider For Young Child position at Christian Servants Home Care?
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Respite Provider to offer essential support to a young child. In this role, you will be responsible for providing temporary relief and assistance to the family, ensuring the safety, well-being, and social development of the child in the comfort of their own homes or in the community. Your role will play a crucial part in improving the quality of life for both the children and their families.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Care and Companionship: Provide one-on-one care, companionship, and emotional support to the child.
2. Engagement and Play: Develop age-appropriate activities to engage in with the child to encourage growth and development.
3. Safety and Monitoring: Ensure the safety of the child at all times, proactively identifying potential risks, and taking necessary precautions to prevent accidents or injuries.
4. Communication: Maintain open and effective communication with the child's primary caregiver and manager.
5. Scheduling: Work with families to schedule mentoring sessions at times that are convenient for them while meeting the child's needs.
6. Community Integration: Encourage and facilitate the child's participation in community activities, as appropriate, to promote socialization and inclusion.
Qualifications:
Experience working with children and disabilities.
Some knowledge of behavioral diagnoses in children.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Empathy, patience, and a genuine passion for helping children with disabilities.
Flexibility and adaptability to meet the changing needs of each child.
Working Conditions:
- This is a part-time position (10hrs/month). Additional hours available if interested
- Work takes place in the child's home or in the community
