What are the responsibilities and job description for the Part Time Respite Provider - Young Adult with Autism (3-4 hour shifts 2x / wk) position at Christian Servants Home Care?
This role requires a caring and dedicated individual who is passionate about providing quality care and improving an individual's quality of life. Schedule for this position is 3-4 hour shifts, 2-3 days a week. Start time is flexible - 1:45 or later. ABA therapists, behavioral technicians, occupational therapy assistants, teacher assistants, paraprofessionals, someone with passion and experience in caregiving and advocating for kids or adolescents, etc. would be a great fit for this position.
Duties:
- Provide in-home care and support to a young adult with autism
- Provide positive role modeling and engage in age-appropriate activities with the individual.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment
- Respect and uphold the rights of the individual, ensuring their privacy and dignity
Skills:
- Knowledge of different developmental disabilities
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Patience, empathy, and a compassionate approach to caregiving
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and respect for the individual's privacy
- Experience working with aggressive behaviors
