Position Summary:
Join one of Central Florida’s oldest and most established social service agencies in our effort to combat homelessness by getting individuals into housing rapidly. With locations in Downtown Orlando and Ocoee, the Christian Service Center has been serving Central Florida families with compassion and care for since 1971. In 2024, we rescued 1,236 individuals from homelessness through homeless prevention services and moves off the street and into safe, sustainable housing solutions.
We're seeking a compassionate and organized Program Manager to lead our new, innovative 407 Connect initiative, a first-of-its-kind mobile shelter program providing dignified overnight accommodation to individuals experiencing homelessness. While providing rest and safety, 407 Connect will support the housing, healthcare, and employment goals of program participants through high quality case management services. During the day, the 407 Connect buses will encourage other communities to seek innovative solutions in service delivery and housing through the Roadshow initiative. This role combines operational leadership with a deep commitment to serving our community's most vulnerable members.
Primary Responsibilities:
· Oversee daily operations of two custom-fitted shelter buses providing 38-40 beds nightly
· Supervise and coordinate a team including drivers, intake coordinators, and case managers
· Ensure smooth execution of nightly operations from guest check-in through morning departure
· Manage relationships with partner organizations and overnight parking locations
· Monitor program metrics and maintain accurate data in the Homeless Management Information System (HMIS)
· Coordinate with case management team to facilitate successful transitions to permanent housing
· Oversee bus maintenance, supplies, and operational logistics
· Develop and maintain program policies and procedures
· Participate in community outreach and stakeholder engagement
· Manage program budget and track expenses
· Work closely with the Day Services Manager and Director of Operations to ensure basic needs and housing solutions are coordinated effectively
Required Qualifications:
· Bachelor's degree in social work, human services, related field or commiserate experience
· 3 years of experience in homeless services or shelter operations
· Demonstrated success in program management and staff supervision
· Strong understanding of Housing First principles and trauma-informed care
· Experience with HMIS or similar case management systems
· Valid driver's license and clean driving record
· Ability to work flexible hours including some evenings
Preferred Qualifications:
· Master's degree in related field
· Experience with mobile or non-traditional shelter programs
· Knowledge of Central Florida homeless services system
· Grant management experience
· Bilingual English/Spanish
