ChristianaCare is excited to transition from Cerner to Epic as the EHR across our sites of care!

This role is a HYBRID position requiring frequent on-site work. Must be within a commutable distance.

Epic certification preferred; if not certified, must become Epic certified within 3 weeks of completing the mandatory Epic training sessions.

Must be available to travel for Epic training the week of 3/31/2025.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in healthcare, Information Technology, or a related field preferred.

  • 2-3 years of experience working with Epic systems or similar EHR platform required.

  • High School diploma with 5 years of related experience may be considered in lieu of bachelor’s degree.

  • Epic certification in EpicCare Ambulatory required

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead the implementation and configuration of the EpicCare Ambulatory EHR module ensuring it meets the specific needs of clinical departments.

  • Conduct comprehensive analysis of current clinical workflows and processes to determine requirements for the EpicCare Ambulatory module.

  • Customize the EpicCare Ambulatory EHR module to align with the clinical and operational requirements.

  • Develop detailed system specifications, configuration settings, and workflow documentation to guide the implementation process.

  • Ensure the effective implementation and optimization of Care Everywhere, SmartForms, Meaningful Use, and specialty modules to enhance real-time clinical documentation, patient monitoring, and workflow efficiency for healthcare providers.

  • Participate in the planning and execution of the EpicCare Ambulatory implementation, ensuring alignment with project goals and timelines.

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including clinical staff, IT professionals, and project managers, to ensure seamless integration and deployment of the EpicCare Ambulatory system.

  • Conduct thorough system testing, validation, and troubleshooting to ensure the system meets quality and performance standards before go-live.

  • Develop training materials and participate in training sessions for end-users, including physicians, nurses, and administrative staff, to ensure effective use of the EpicCare Ambulatory system.

  • Provide ongoing support and troubleshooting for the EpicCare Ambulatory system post-implementation, addressing user issues and concerns promptly.
