The MedicalAssistant assists in examination and treatment ofpatients under the direction of an urgent care provider. Managesthe check-in and registration process, interview patients, measuresvital signs (i.e., pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight,and height), and records information on patients' charts. May berequired to draw and collect blood samples from patients andprepare specimens for laboratory analysis. Prepares treatment roomsfor examination of patients. Essential Functions
- Register patients, verifyinsurance, and process co-pays.
- Scheduleappointments and coordinate specialist referrals.
- Answer patient inquiries and update them oncare status.
- Inform staff of patient flow andassist with patient preparation.
- Recordmedical history, take vitals, and escalate critical cases.
- Perform point-of-care testing (e.g., flu,strep, ECG).
- Perform phlebotomy andadminister injections as needed.
- Maintainexam rooms, stock supplies, and manage inventory.
- Update medical records and scan documents.
- Answer phone calls and handle mail.
- Perform patient follow-up and maintainreception area.
- Handle opening / closingduties, cash out, and secure the building.
- Conduct daily equipment checks and submit repair tickets.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Additional Knowledge, Skills andAbilities Required

CCMA -Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (verified through NHA,National Healthcareer Association)
Additionally, CPOEcertification for order entry is required within two weeks of startdate and must be kept active in lieu of MA certification within thefirst 15 months of hire.
