Job Opening: EEG Diagnostic Professional

We are seeking a skilled EEG Diagnostic Professional to join our Outpatient Neurology team in Middletown.

About the Position:

This role involves performing complex diagnostic procedures using specialized equipment, working closely with healthcare professionals to ensure accurate results and high-quality patient care. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills and attention to detail.

Main Tasks:

• Gather relevant patient information from charts, families, or patients themselves.
• Develop effective relationships with patients, providing clear instructions to facilitate smooth procedures.
• Apply electrodes to patients' heads using the International 10/20 System.
• Regularly maintain and calibrate EEG machines to ensure optimal performance.
• Keep all equipment clean and well-maintained.
• Record and store EEG and Evoked Potential studies according to established protocols.
• Identify and resolve any technical issues that may arise.
• Maintain continuous observation of patients during procedures, documenting important findings.
• Select and apply suitable EEG activation techniques.
• Monitor other essential physiological parameters.
• Upon completion of the procedure, carefully remove electrodes, clean the patient's hair and scalp, and prepare EEGs for uploading and archiving.

Essential Requirements:

• A degree from a Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) accredited Neurodiagnostic Program.
• At least six months experience in a patient-centric environment.
• Eligibility for ABRET certification, which must be achieved within one year.
• BLS Certification.
